Buddy is a favorite at SafeHart as he was with his family.  In December 2022, tornados ripped through the Northeast region above the Dallas Fort Worth Area.  His original family lost their entire house and they pitched a tent on the property.  Since the fence fell down, he was tied to a tree; however, a branch had been weakened by the storm and the branch fell on hid hindleg.  The family could not afford the veterinary bills, so they surrendered him to a local shelter.  His leg was amputated.  The DAS Shelter reached out to Valerie Fox, who in turn reached out to SafeHart and we took him in.  Despite his disabilities, he could run like the win and played in the yard.  He was adopted to a wonderful family.
